Dharma for Children Begins Sunday, Feb 1st!

"Generous Heart"
Sundays in February, 11:30a-1p
Even children experience stressful lives. They are bombarded with pressures from school, television, video games and peers. Meditation classes give children the means to deal with the stresses of life and develop peaceful states of mind. Our series for February, Generous Heart, will help children explore the many different ways to practice giving so that they can develop the powerful and generous heart of a Bodhisattva. Children's classes are presented in a lively, creative and interactive way and are suitable for children 5-12 years of age. (Dharma for Children will be an ongoing program every Sunday morning throughout the year.)
Feb 1, 8, 15, 22

Meditation & Buddhism
on Long Island, New York
Buddhism was founded by Buddha Shakyamuni who lived and taught in India some two and a half thousand years ago. He taught methods for gradually overcoming our negative minds such as anger, attachment and confusion, which lead to suffering, and for developing our positive minds such as love, compassion and wisdom, which lead to inner peace and happiness.
The meditation practices that we teach are actual methods to control our mind and to develop a deep and lasting peace from within. Through training in meditation, we shall experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, difficult situations will become easier to deal with, and our relationships will gradually improve.
Dipamkara Meditation Center on Long Island, New York holds weekly meditation classes, weekend courses and meditation retreats for all levels.
